MEET MANDY

I’m Mandy, a registered Specialist Wellness Counsellor (ASCHP), coach, wife, mum, and someone who knows that life doesn’t always go according to plan.

Like many people, I have experienced seasons of growth, loss, uncertainty, and change. These experiences, together with more than 20 years in the wellbeing industry, have shaped not only the work I do, but the way I work.

I believe people deserve a space where they can feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re facing anxiety, grief, burnout, trauma, a difficult life transition, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, my goal is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and hope.

Counselling is not about having all the answers. Sometimes it begins with having a safe space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what you’re experiencing.

That is the space I aim to create for every person who walks through my door.

MY STORY

My journey into counselling has been shaped by both professional experience and life experience.

I began my career in the health and wellbeing industry more than 20 years ago, working in leadership and management roles while completing my studies in Psychology and Communications. Over the years, I have worked with people from all walks of life, supporting them in their health, wellbeing, personal growth, and life challenges.

My experience spans both the wellbeing and business worlds. Alongside my work in counselling and coaching, I have spent many years mentoring and supporting individuals in their personal and professional growth. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the pressures people face as they navigate work, family, relationships, loss, change, and the demands of everyday life.

Alongside my professional journey, I have also experienced many of life’s realities myself, including loss, uncertainty, business ownership, leadership, motherhood, relationships, and the ongoing process of growth and self-discovery.

These experiences have taught me that life is rarely as simple as it appears from the outside.

Many people spend years carrying burdens they don’t fully understand, repeating patterns they cannot explain, or feeling stuck in ways that leave them questioning themselves.

This is one of the reasons I feel so passionate about the work I do.

I have seen how powerful it can be when people begin to understand themselves differently. When things start to make sense, what once felt confusing often becomes clearer. What felt impossible can begin to feel manageable.

That is where healing, growth, and meaningful change often begin.

WHAT I BELIEVE

Understanding Creates Change

Over the years, I have come to believe that understanding creates change.

Many of the struggles we face as adults do not appear overnight. They are often connected to experiences we have lived through, relationships that have shaped us, beliefs we have formed about ourselves, and ways of coping that developed over time.

What may have once helped us navigate difficult situations can sometimes leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, grieving, or repeating the same struggles in different areas of our lives.

When we begin to understand the connection between our past experiences, our current struggles, and the choices available to us moving forward, things start to make sense.

What once felt confusing becomes clearer.

What felt automatic becomes a choice.

Often, the greatest relief comes not from finding all the answers, but from finally understanding why we think, feel, and respond the way we do.

I believe that most people are not broken.

Their struggles, emotions, behaviours, and patterns often make sense when viewed in the context of their experiences, relationships, losses, and life story.

Understanding does not remove responsibility, nor does it erase pain. What it does do is replace confusion with clarity, shame with compassion, and helplessness with hope.

This understanding creates the foundation for meaningful and lasting change.

HOW I WORK

No two people are the same, which is why I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

Every person brings their own story, experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals into the counselling space. My role is to meet you where you are and tailor the process to your unique needs.

My approach is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity rather than judgement. Together, we create a space where you can explore your experiences, gain insight into what may be contributing to your current struggles, and develop practical ways to move forward.

I draw from a range of counselling, coaching, and wellbeing approaches, integrating them in a way that best supports the individual sitting in front of me.

I also believe that the body often tells the truth before words do.

Stress, grief, trauma, and emotional pain can leave their mark not only on the mind but on the body as well. With extensive training in coaching and body-based modalities, I gently incorporate somatic awareness and practical body-based techniques when appropriate, helping clients develop greater emotional insight, self-awareness, and emotional regulation.

You will often hear me say:

“Your body is your book. It tells you what is going on.”

Above all, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, supported, and empowered to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
